8、interestalternativelywithanattitudeofwillingnessthatreflectsaninneracceptanceofthevalueutilityofatask.Inthefmercase—theclassiccaseofextrinsicmotivation—onefeelsexternallypropelledintoactioninthelatercasetheextrinsicgoali

11、ailinthisarticlenotonlythedifferenttypesofmotivationalientationthatexistwithintheglobalextrinsiccategybutmeovertheirdifferentialantecedentsconsequences.INTRINSICMOTIVATIONIntrinsicmotivationisdefinedasthedoingofanactivit
12、yfitsinherentsatisfactionsratherthanfsomeseparableconsequence.Whenintrinsicallymotivatedapersonismovedtoactfthefunchallengeentailedratherthanbecauseofexternalprodspressuresrewards.Thephenomenonofintrinsicmotivationwasfir
13、stacknowledgedwithinexperimentalstudiesofanimalbehaviwhereitwasdiscoveredthatmanyganismsengageinexplatyplayfulcuriositydrivenbehavisevenintheabsenceofreinfcementreward(White1959).Thesespontaneousbehavisalthoughclearlybes
