2、ed enormous success. Their success cannot be realized without the well reception from Chinese young readers. In these successful translated works, young readers’ important role has been well manifested and their reading

3、capabilities, language used, aesthetic preference have all been given due respect. The thesis, based on the Readers’ Reception Theory, compares and analyzes the original version with the Chinese version

4、of Harry Potter novels, aiming to explore how the translation has successfully represented the linguistic features and how it has realized the artistic value of the original works. Through the revelations brought by the

5、Readers’ Reception Theory and the successful translatology of Harry Potter, the thesis also tries to probe into the questions of introducing traditional children’s literature worldwide. In terms of language, the translat

6、ed version of Harry Potter does not only maintains the simplicity and vividness of the original version, but also gives full play to the advantages of musicality in Chinese, such as using the devices of duplicated words

7、and rhymed nursery songs, which greatly enhances the readability and interest of the translation. The proper use of verbs and adjectives make descriptions true to life and the creative use of the fashionable colloquialis

8、m bring the translation a sense of up-to-date flavor, which shortens the distance between the translation and its target readers. As for the reproduction of the rich imagination of the original texts, the translation’s
