1、A great number of deeply inadaptable problems exit in the higher education in China,during the process of the transition and the development from the elite to the popularization.These problems mainly resulting from the n
2、arrow structure and the more conservative content of discipline,lead to the separation among discipline,major,and school running resources,and result in employment problems of English major graduates for no satisfaction
3、of social needs.Recently,the social demand for English major graduates constantly rises,which not only focuses on the English grades certificates of employed students,but does on their oral abilities.Therefore,it is of u
4、tmost significance to cultivate the oral abilities of English major graduates based on the highly social demand for oral English expressions.Based on the Krashen’s input theory and Swain’s output theory,this paper resear
5、ches the efficient methods from input hypothesis to acquisition and output hypothesis.Meanwhile,it emphasizes on the discussion that there are quantities of oral expression problems in English major graduates from the pe
6、rspective of social needs,and researches the subject “A Study of Oral English Teaching of English Majors from the Perspective of Social Needs”.The paper is divided into five parts.The first part mainly discusses the back
7、ground and significance of the study,and mentions feasibility,necessity and practical meaning of the researched study.It points that the cultivation model of English major talents in higher education should transform int
8、o the applied and multiple one,concentrating on the oral expression education in English major students.The second part mainly expresses the characteristics,contributions,and functions of the Krashen’s input theory and S
9、wain’s output theory and the relationship between them,and centers on the functions and instructive significance of the two theories for oral English teaching of English majors.The third one is the study part.In the surv
10、ey,it mainly adopts questionnaire survey and interview method to respectively research social demands for enterprises and partial English major graduates in order to obtain first-hand information to analyze.The aim is to
11、 acknowledge demands of enterprises for English major graduates,to master the basis,comments and related recommendations on the English abilities of graduates,especially on their oral and communicative English abilities,
12、and to know requirements of the graduates’ capability and qualities.The forth part is analysis and discussion.According to the survey results,it can provide some information and advice for the college oral English teachi
13、ng and professional curriculum planning and relative management.The fifth one is conclusion.Based on the last researching results,it mentions limitations in oral English teaching and learning in practice,and provides som
