3、onehandthenovelbasicalyadoptstwotypesofwriting:narrationanddialogue.Comparedwithnarrationtheessenceofdialogueinthenovelisnotonlyinitsvolumebutalsoincreatingthecharactersaswellasinitsculturalconnotation:Chinesefeudalrelat
4、ionshipChinesereligionandChinesecustometc.AsaresultthedialoguesinHongLouMengareworthtranslatorsfurtherstudiesnotonlyinitslinguisticvaluebutalsoinitsculturalvalue.Atthesametimeculturaltranslationhasbeendevelopingbecauseof
5、theinseparableinterrelationshipbetweencultureandtranslation.Ithasbeenacceptedthattranslationisessentiallyacommunicationprocessbetweenculturesratherthansimplybetweenlanguages.Thefocusofthisdissertationisplacedupontheanaly
6、sisofthetranslationsofthosedialoguesinYangShienyisADreamofRedMansionsfromtheperspectiveofculturaltranslation.Theanalysisinthisdissertationisexecutedbothfromamacroandamicroperspective.Themacroperspectivehelpstheauthorofth
7、isdissertationextracta“narrow“andspecificChineseculturesystemfromthedialogues.ThisspecificsystemcanprovidepracticalhelpforthosepotentialreadersandinterestedresearcherswithinthecontextofHongLouMeng(orADreamofRedMansions).
8、WhilethemicroperspectivehelpstheauthororganizesomedetailedanalysisthroughninecommonculturaltranslationmethodswhoseapplicationsinYangsversionhavetheirgainsaswellaslosses.Determinedbythecomplexnatureoftranslationitselfandt
9、hestrictrequirementsofspecificculturalcontextssomedefiniteandclearevaluationstowards.theaboveapplicationsareactualyhardtobegiven.Thoughitshardtoachievethebestinthefieldoftranslationitspossibletoachievebetterthroughsystem
