4、. The thesis is composed by three parts :The Introduction,The Main Text and The Conclusion.The first part: The Introduction.This part mainly introduces the research status quo at home and abroad and the researh deficienc

5、y about the text of ,then analysis the applicability and importance of interpretation by The New Criticism’s theory to determine the research significance. The second part: The Main Text.This part divides into three chap

6、ters:The first chapter analysis the context of the text’s symbol system; The cracked epoch ,the paradoxical literay environment and the depressed personal experience have breed the conflict spirit of the symbol forest,wh

7、ich subsides in the belief of original sin and expressed by the art means . The second chapter explores that the poem use the metaphor to build four subject verbal icons which include original sin、downfall、salvation and

8、convention. As the cell of the symbol system ,they are all symbolizing the Christ original sin by the different forms under the pressure of symbol context .The third chapter which on th basis of the second chapter studie
