2、 their existence, organize experience, predict future events and guide social interaction. As the basis of self-verification, self-view is a complicated system. However, Swann’s researches just focused on how specific se
3、lf-view or specific self-esteem guided self-verification, ignoring the effect of global self-view or global self-esteem. Combining Rudich and Zhang Feng’s improved research techniques, the present study simplified and pe
4、rfected the old empirical methods by further screening the subjects. This research provided a clearer view of respective effects of global self-esteem and specific self-esteem on self-verification in social interaction.
5、It concluded as follows: 1.When the need for belonging could harmonize with the need for self-consistency, the self-verification was primarily guided by specific self-esteem. 2. When the need for belonging clashed with t
