2、ring system to digital video monitoring. So video monitoring is requested highly. It is more and more receiving people’s attention that video monitoring system is developed and designed with the features of operating sim
3、ply, real-time, reliability, multi-purpose, digitization, and so on. Based on the embedded technology, network video monitoring is becoming the mainstream in the monitoring domain. This thesis refers to a project. Firstl
4、y, it introduces the interrelated technology and architecture of network video monitoring based on the embedded technology. the character and principle of DirectShow technology are analyzed. With Embedded Visual C++, vid
5、eo capture is implemented into the fire fighting remote monitoring terminal, by taking DirectShow technology. Secondly, by analyzing common video encoding technology standard, this thesis adopts the MPEG-4 technology to
6、implement video encoding, elaborating the Winsock technology and using it to implement video data network transmission; Finally, it adopts the DirectShow technology and MPEG-4 decoding technology to implement video playi
7、ng in Visual C++6.0 programming environment. Video captured by remote monitoring terminal can be played at monitoring center via network transportation. It shows the feasibility of the scheme. Keywords: Video Monitoring
