2、ve medical information system designed to capture, transmit, store, manipulate and display digital medical images,which facilitates the management of medical images from various imaging modalities. DICOM3.0 (Digital Imag
3、ing and Communications in Medicine) is the predominant standard for medical image communications. In the recent years, PACS has come to be the certainly trend of digital hospital, but it is a long way to become a general
4、 medical system of our country. This paper firstly introduces the development of PACS as well as contents and several basic concepts of DICOM. Secondly it analyzes structures, coding and the communication model of DICOM
5、files, and lastly develops the Image Workstation of Simulated Positioner based on DICOM3.0. The general design, system structure, implement project, work flow and the main function and workflow of each model are partic
6、ularly discussed in this paper, It stresses the file format of DICOM, the encapsulation of information objects and communications, and process algorithms of medical images used in the system. The system provides process
7、algorithms such as image enhancement, image zooming and pseudo-color, which make it convenient to clinical diagnosis. In addition, the expert system medical record model provided is propitious to diagnose and write recor
8、ds. Furthermore, aimed at great amount DICOM medical images saved in the system, and the importance of images, we introduce ontology into DICOM image searches. It can do semantics extension of DICOM medical image model,
9、create the DICOM medical image ontology model, analyze process of annotation and retrieval, and discuss the DICOM medical image search model based on ontology. We use Visual C++.Net and SQL Server 2000 to implement the s
10、ystem. This system is completely in accordance with DICOM, which have good expandability, practicability and stability. This has significant meanings to improve diagnosis level and efficiency, as well as the popularizati
