2、on composing techniques, and gave an interpretation about formation and characteristics of national style in the works. Topics are based ontwo points: first, there is hardly any research on Sibelius academically, especia
3、lly thehorizontal comparison and analysis in composition structures of Sibelius's threesymphony works. Secondly, only a few papers both at home and abroad haveanalysed on relationship between musical elements such as
4、 melody, mode, harmony, orchestration and national characteristics.The analysis in this paper focuses on the combination of structural features,composition elements and nationality. In his symphony works, the nationality
5、embodies in the musical elements, and the musical elements affected the developmentof the structure, therefore the nationality indirectly affected the development of the structure. Take the more representative second, fo
6、urth and seventh symphony ofSibelius as a reference, just because “Symphony No.2“, the first movement of“Symphony No.4“ and “Symphony No.7“ are all of sonata form, or including sonatastructure, so there is a parallel com
7、parison of the structures of three works, in order toreflect the different treatments of the same structures in different works at different period of time. Take the “Symphony No.7“ as focus, “Symphony No.2“ and“Symphony
8、 No.4“ as auxiliary to do the horizontal analysis. Of all symphonies ofSibelius, these three are very representative, and features are: “Symphony No.2“ focuson management of the theme-motive, and the appearance of this s
9、ymphony gave himthe leading position in symphony composers. The value of “Symphony No.4“ lies in its structure which has basically got rid of the traditional symphony structural form,and subverted the traditional arrange
10、ments, blurred the concept that the firstmovement is always of sonata form, and the changes of his composing style reflecthis nationalism characteristics. The feature of “Symphony No. 7“ is that the wholework is a single
11、 movement, without a fixed form, which is special in the form of symphony music. This paper tried to start with musical form and then refer to othercomposing elements, to make a horizontal comparison and analysis in Sibe
12、lius' s work,so as to achieve diversity research levels. The scheme of the musical form leads to anargument that the relationship between musical elements and forms, the developmentof music structure is not a single
