4、n order to improve the current situation in China, feudal thoughtsand sense must be eradicated from people’s mind while democracy and science should beadvocated to change the old face of the society and to get rid of the

5、 predicament ofsemi-colonial and semi-feudal society. Yuanshao Jiang was one of them. Yuanshao Jiang’sstudy on customs was distinctive: he teased the customs from a large number of ancientliteratures and recomposed many

6、enlightenment custom short sketches ineasy-to-understand and simple language to popularize science. Shaoyuan Jiang’s study oncustoms focused on the field close to people’s daily life like religion, etiquette, belief,supe

7、rstition, etc. to reveal the ridiculousness in traditional etiquette and customs in orderto establish the new, scientific and healthy public daily life. Shaoyuan Jiang explored thenew field of custom study, invented the
