3、edremarkablybynearly11304.95ha.Theareasofruralurbanconstructionwaterbodyincreasedby10152.24ha848.94harespectively.From1988to200152.5%ofthelostcroplwasconvertedintoruralurbanindustriall.Rapidurbanizationcontributedtoagrea
4、tchangeintherateofcroplluseduringtheseyears.Lreclamationalsocontributedtoadecreaseinwaterbodyareaaswellasmarineecologicalenvironmentaldestruction.Inthestudyarea1)urbanizationindustrialization2)infrastructureagriculturali
5、ntensification3)increasedaffluenceofthefarmingcommunity4)policyfactshavedriventhelusechanges.Possiblesustainablelusemeasuresincludedconstructionofalmanagementsystemlplanningdevelopmentofpotentiallresourcesnewtechnologyap

10、sixclasses:cropl(l)d(2)festl(3)ruralurbanindustriall(4)waterbody(5)unusedl(6).Thesecondgradewasdividedinto12classeswiththefollowingnamescodes:paddyfield(ll)dryl(12)d(21)fest(31)urbantownseparatedindustriall(41)rurall(42)
11、saltfield(43)reservoir(51)otherwaterbodies(52)coastalbeach(53)barrenl(61)otherunusedl(62).ProceduresFlusedataconversionsfrom1988to2001firstLsatTMimagesofthreedifferentperiodswereacquiredthentheGCP(groundcontrolpoints)wks
12、moduleofCanadianPCIsoftwarewasappliedfmakinggeometriccrections.Methanftygroundcontrolpointswereedasreferencesonatopographymapofscale1:50000.TheGaussKrugerprojectionwhichbelongedtoakindoftransverseequalanglecylindricalpro
13、jectionwasusedtocrectimageswithitsprojectionparameterasfollows:centrallongitude117”Krassovskyellipsoidfalseeasting500km(Chang2002Chenetal.1998).Colcompositesweregenerateddisplayingbs543asredgreenbluerespectively.Animagee
14、nhancementwasperfmedtoincreasethevisualdistinctionbetweenfeaturesindertoincreasetheamountofinfmationthatcanbevisuallyinterpretedfromthedata.Afterimageenhancementbasedonfieldinvestigationsimageinterpretationsymbolsofdiffe
15、rentimageelementswereadded.Aglobalpositioningsystem(GPS)receiverwasusedtocollectthecodinatesofsamplesites.Additionallythelusemapof1996wasdigitizedinGISArcViewsoftwarebefeimageinterpretation.Thiscouldbeconsultedintheproce
16、ssofpersonmachinealternatingvisualoperations.ThelusetypeswereinterpretedvisuallyinthescreenbasedontheTMimages.Alsosomeadditionalerrswerecrectedbasedonauxiliaryreferencedatafieldwk.Intheendthesmallestplotontheinterpretedm
17、apcrespondedtoascaleof1:100000fieldcheckingverifiedtheaccuracyofimageinterpretationofupto90%.Todeterminetherateoflusechangethestudyperiod19882001wasdividedintotwosubperiodsthelusechangesofthetwosubperiodswerecompared.The
18、firstsubperiodwasfrom1988to1998calledtheearlierstagethesecondsubperiodwasfrom1998to2001calledthelaterstage.Thecomparativeanalysisonlusechangefocusedonthetwosubperiods.Regionaldifferenceinluseacteristicsweredeterminedusin
