2、ng over the error-prone channels, the compressed video bit-steams are always vulnerable to all kinds of transmission errors. The corrupted parts of the bit-streams may not only affect the reconstruction effect of the cur

3、rent frames, but also cause the error propagation problems both spatially and temporally. So it is really practical to take into account the error-resilience effects in each step of the transmission system. Therefore, we

4、 describe a framework for video transmission over the packet-loss channel in order to obtain the balance between system costs and benefits, which features the coordinated operation of the H.264 error resilience encoding,

5、 error concealment algorithms, transport-layer packetization and congestion control mechanisms. In the encoding step, we apply an unequal error protection strategy based on the FMO and FEC algorithms, which tries to imp

6、rove the reconstruction effect by protecting half of the macro-blocks in a frame having a chess-board distributed map. As it implies higher probabilities of correct decoding of the neighboring macro-blocks around the mis

7、sing one, appropriate error concealment algorithms may improve their concealment results. Thus, we further employ an MAP estimator in the error concealment step to enhance the finally video reconstruction quality. The n
